Flagship herd sire
A very attractive bull with a lot of style and balance: long bodied and muscular, with excellent breed character and masculinity. Easy moving, athletic and structurally correct from every angle.
His sire, Tamamaru, is one of the most widely used Akaushi bulls thanks to his consistency and his legendary mother, Dai 8 Marunami. Tamamaru's sire, Dai 5 Tamanami Tokkyu 96, provides an outcross to the rest of the 1994 importation. His dam is by Kalanga Red Star on top of the famous Gabni Rubi cow, adding performance, length of body and stoutness of structure.
A gentleman in the pasture and around people, and very hard working with the cows.
The Look
Every mating starts from the same five traits. Good cattle have to eat well, raise a calf, stay sound and be easy to live with.
The trait the breed is known for. We favor pedigrees that carry it consistently.
Quiet cattle that are calm in the pasture and easy to handle around people.
Cows that breed back, calve on their own and raise a good calf, year after year.
Correct, easy-moving cattle that stay sound and hold up on the ground.
Length, muscle and stoutness of build, without giving up the eating quality.
The cow herd

Explore
Akaushi, the red Wagyu from Japan's Kumamoto region, carry the breed's eating quality in a hardy, easy-going package.
Wagyu are known for fine, even intramuscular fat. It runs through the cut rather than sitting around it, and it is what sets the breed apart.
That marbling brings a tender bite and a rich, buttery flavor. Akaushi are prized for eating quality as much as for looks.
For commercial cattlemen, an Akaushi bull is a way to add marbling and eating quality to calves, from cattle that are docile, maternal and suited to Southern heat.
